Crista Leonard, 28 anni, scatto foto da circa 13 anni. 

Qual è la sua attrezzatura? 

Nikon FE2, Hasselblad 500 C/M, la vecchia Pentax di mio padre ed ho appena acquistato una Leica Minilux.

Cosa significa la fotografia per lei?

Come scelta di vita rappresenta, per me, un'opportunità di libertà, creatività e di senso di avventura, come forma artistica è al contempo pura e cinematografica, diretta, espressiva e nostalgica.

Quali sono i suoi soggetti preferiti?

Scatto moltissime fotografie di moda, ma mi piace anche cercare di cogliere i pensieri intimi delle persone che ritraggo, non tanto cercando una iterazione con me, il fotografo, bensì cercando di cogliere il processo di pensiero che abbiamo dentro noi stessi. Oltre a questo anche la luce.

Cosa fa oltre a fotografare? 

Cosa fa oltre a fotografare? Viaggio, cucino, scrivo, disegno, leggo, dormo, faccio baldoria, giro in bici per la città, gioco col mio cane, guardo film. Adoro l'interior design e il graphic design.

 

Qual è la foto che sogna di realizzare? 

 Devo organizzare un viaggio verso un'isola vulcanica con la sabbia nera o verso le salt flats nello Utah. Mi piace l'idea di realizzare foto in ambientazioni inusuali, quali marziane. Questo è un bel sogno, adatto a me.

Un fotografo che ci consiglia di seguire? 

Il mio amico Angeles Peña possiede un talento incredibile, commovente, un fotografo da sogno. Un altro fotografo che voglio consigliare è Carlos Blanchard.

Crista Leonard, 28 years old I’ve been taking photos for about 13 years.  

What cameras do you work with? 

Nikon FE2, Hasselblad 500 C/M, my Dad’s old Pentax and I’ve just purchased a Leica Minilux. 

What does photography mean to you? 

Well as a way of life it offers freedom, creativity and a sense of adventure, as an art form I find it to be both candid and cinematographic, direct, expressive and nostalgic. 

What are your favourite subjects? 

I shoot a lot of fashion, but I like to try and get a sense of my subject’s inner thoughts I’m not looking for an interaction with me the photographer so much as that inner thought process we have with ourselves. What else do you do besides photography? 

Travel, cook, write, draw, read, sleep, party, ride bikes around town, play with my dog, watch films, garden I love interior design and graphic design in publishing. 

What is the photo you'd dream to take?

I need to plan a trip to either a volcanic island with black sand or to the Utah salt flats…I like the idea of taking photos in such an unusual almost Martian setting, That would be pretty dream like for me. 

What photographer do you recommend us to watch? 

My friend Angeles Peña is an incredibly talented, emotional, dream like photographer, Carlos Blanchard is one to watch
